Step One: Choosing Your Extraction Kit
Start by selecting the extraction salt kit that matches your intended method — whether that’s the original 10 g or 15 g sample protocol, EN 15662, or AOAC 2007.01. If you’re working with pH-sensitive analytes, such as certain pesticides that degrade under acidic or basic conditions, a buffered salt kit is the better choice.
Salt blends come pre-loaded in sample tubes rather than packaged loose in bags — a format that’s held up well in daily lab use, since it opens easily and empties out completely with no residue left behind. Every salt kit is available either bundled with matching 50 mL centrifuge tubes or on its own, if you’d rather supply your own tubes.
